ازدیاد توالد و تناسل اگرچه مطلوب شارع مقدس بوده و در حد امکان نباید جلوگیری شود ولیکن اصل اساسی تر از آن چگونگی تربیت و تأمین آینده ای بهتر برای فرزندان است، از اینرو غالب اندیشمندان اسلامی، مسئله تنظیم خانواده را جایز می دانند.
